| Montana Head Start/State Collaboration Office Mission Statement: | |||
| To impact the lives of low-income children and families by influencing state and local policy and the effective delivery of services, while linking Head Start Programs and communities through collaborative relationships. | |||
| About the MT Head Start/State Collaboration Office… | |||
| The MT Head Start/State Collaboration Office was funded by the federal government in 1996. This Office is unique from most state in that it is a complete collaboration between the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS), who contracts with Child Care Partnerships, the Child Care Resource and Referral Agency (CCP) of Helena and the Montana Head Start Association (HSA). This unified blend of state, private, and Head Start entities ensures that all parties are equally represented in each of the eight target areas of the Collaboration Office: | |||
| Education | Child Care | Health Services | Disabilities |
| Family Literacy | Volunteerism | Homelessness |
Welfare |
| The Collaboration office is eager to ensure that Head Start families and programs are represented on all boards, task forces, commissions, and other groups that influence policy and programming for young children and families. Building support at state and local levels by educating policy makers and administrators about Head Start and the important role it plays in the lives of low-income families is an important step to achieving all goals of the MT Head Start/State Collaboration Office. | |||
