Safety Precautions Schools are Taking to Keep Kids Safe During the Pandemic

With many children unable to adjust to distance learning, states are making the reopening of schools a priority. Now that vaccines are becoming more widely available, the risk of catching the virus is lower, but schools must still take steps to keep children safe. Here are some of the safety precautions that will be enforced.

School Safety Precautions During COVID

Physical Distancing

Physical distancing will be promoted to keep schools safe. While the six foot rule will be enforced, research shows that spacing desks three feet apart could be just as effective if children are wearing masks and are not showing COVID symptoms.

Meetings among staff members are also being discouraged, and there will be limited use of teacher lounges. School activities will be moved to outdoor spaces whenever possible. And arrows will be placed in the hallways and stairs to direct the flow of traffic and avoid crowding.

Face Coverings

All students and staff members will be required to wear a face covering that covers both the nose and mouth at all times.

Hand Washing

Staff members and students will be encouraged and sometimes required to wash their hands with soap and water before engaging in school activities.

Temperature Checks and Testing

Testing may be performed if a student is showing COVID symptoms. While it may not be feasible for schools to perform temperature checks, parents are asked to keep children home if they have fevers over 100.4.

Classroom Routines

Classroom routines will change as follows:

·  Teachers will be asked to move from classroom to classroom, while students will stay in place to avoid crowded hallways.

·  Students will be asked to eat lunch at their desk or in small groups outside rather than in crowded cafeterias.

·  Doors of classrooms will remain open during lessons to promote ventilation.

Exposure

If children come in contact with someone infected with the COVID virus, parents are asked to keep them home for two weeks.

Cleaning and Disinfecting

Schools will be following CDC guidelines when it comes to sanitizing classrooms and common areas.

Preventative Steps to Take at Home

Parents can do their part by keeping children healthy. A diet with foods that are high in antioxidants will boost the immune system making them less likely to contract the virus.

To ensure you are doing everything you can to keep your child safe, consider adding immune boosting supplements like Megafood Kids Daily Immune Powder to their diet.

The Megafood brand is known for being innovators in the natural health and natural supplement industry. Their Kids Immune Powder uses fresh blueberries, oranges, cranberries, astragalus, echinacea, and elderberry to create an antioxidant rich blend. It is free of added sugars, sweeteners, colors ,and preservatives, and it is certified vegan and non-GMO.

It’s great to know that the virus is under control to the point where schools are ready to reopen, but we want to do all we can to keep children safe. Schools will be doing their part by taking COVID compliant measures, and parents can help out by providing their kids with immune boosting supplements. What will you be doing to limit the spread for your family?
